Logistics FAQ
What is the policy for severe weather events?
Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) warnings override all schedules. Expeditions in Red Alert zones will be extracted or delayed with no penalty to participants.
Do I need previous technical navigation experience?
For 'Easy' and 'Moderate' routes, no. For 'Hard' and 'Expert' routes, a baseline understanding of topo maps and compass work is recommended, though guides provide support.
What communication gear is provided?
Guides carry PLBs (Personal Locator Beacons) and Garmin InReach satellite messengers. Participants on technical routes are encouraged to carry their own redundant systems.
How are medical emergencies handled in remote areas?
All lead guides are Wilderness First Aid certified. We maintain evacuation protocols for every sector, including pre-identified LZ (Landing Zone) coordinates for rescue aircraft.
